Trampoline is pleased to support the solo exhibition of the artist Wilfrid Almendra at Casa da Cerca – Centro de Arte Contemporânea in Almada, Portugal.
Harvest is the first institutional solo exhibition in Portugal of Wilfrid Almendra.
The exhibition takes the form of an immersive installation, composed of pieces of glass reclaimed from abandoned greenhouses, cast objects in bronze and aluminium, and hybrid structures of wood and vegetation, creating a fragile architecture — at once ruin and garden, shelter and threshold. It evokes the silent persistence of labour, the rhythm of gestures that build and repair, and the delicate balance between strength and fragility.
Almendra’s practice is rooted in an ethics of care. To collect, to repair, to transform — these are his tools of resistance. From what is discarded, he rebuilds a world of shared gestures and invisible presences. Harvest offers a reflection on our modes of consumption, explores alternative pathways of exchange, and questions our sensitive relationship to the world.
