Trampoline supports Olivier Marbœuf for his solo exhibition El otro color del oro [The Other Color of Gold], at the Museo Universitario de Arte Contemporáneo (MUAC) at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).
This support follows a series of artist encounters organised in 2019 for Amanda de la Garza, the previous Director-General of Visual Arts at MUAC, through Trampoline’s curators invitation programme.
In the summer of 2026, Olivier Marboeuf undertook a research trip across Veracruz, conceived by local artist Alejandra Bolaños. Their journey brought them into contact with Afro-Mexican communities, activists, musicians, artists, scholars, and human and more-than-human worlds. The exhibition emerges from these encounters and connects them with Blueprints (2022), Marboeuf’s ongoing sound and graphic archive of Afro-Caribbean history. Challenging colonial narratives and extractive systems, the project weaves together historical facts, mythologies, visible and invisible presences, and human and non-human voices. Through a mural, ceramic works, and a sound and shadow installation, Marboeuf develops what he calls a cinema déparlant: a form of image-making rooted in collective imagination and emancipatory political practices. Rather than representing vulnerable bodies or reinforcing established narratives, the works create an autonomous space of expression that resists the ways in which art and its subjects are expected to speak.
